Traditions and Culture

In this fishing village of Marsaxlokk, tradition holds that these Maltese fishing boats (luzzos – the multi-colored wooden ones) are passed down from generation to generation – grandfather to father to son – and repainted in the same colors as their father before them to preserve their heritage.

The eyes placed on the boats are also in keeping with a tradition/superstition that the eyes represent a symbol of protection and good health, keeping the fisherman from harm while out at sea.

What traditions do you foster in your company? What do these events symbolize for you and your employees? Traditions create common bonds and give organizations the opportunity to create colorful experiences, giving life and meaning to the company culture.
